Casino Adjara in Tbilisi closed the doors to players due to financial inspection by local tax authorities. Many regular players migrated to the nearest venue Black Opal casino, which opened last February 2023.
It is expected that inspection could last upto 1 month and could end up in a large fine being issued to Adjara casino holding company. After the fine, the casino will be allowed to re-open its doors.
Adjara casino is one of the oldest venues in Tbilisi and one of the largest. It is managed by a British management company Solna Leisure. For the year 2021 Adajra casino reported total income of over 7 milllion US dollars, vast majority earned from live-table games.
